Retainer as agreed in signed retainer agreement: Amounts below are standard, depending upon the circumstances of your case yours may vary. There is a $250 an hour charge for the Senior attorney, Susan BetzJitomir J.D., and $175 an hour for Associate Attorney's. Retainers as below are "up front" money that we need to take the case at all.The final amount owed may be more, if the amount of work involved is unusually extensive. Family Law- Completely trained in all New York State requirements for Family Law including additional Law Guardian training.
Divorce with all matters agreed and a separation agreement and later filing only needed- $2500 flat fee plus court fees
Divorce with ANYTHING unsettled- Hourly fee as above, and it will require a minimum $4,000 retainer depending upon the circumstances. Plan on paying thousands more if you are really fighting.
Custody- Hourly fee as above, $3,500 retainer

ESTATE PLANNING- I taught Financial Planning at Alfred State College between 2000 and 2002. I was in fact curiculum coordinator for the Associate's Degree Program. I was a financial services representative between my Bachelors Degree and Law School. I have taken advanced training in Estate and Trust taxation. Simple will package $300 flat fee. For other estate work, an hourly basis at between $175 and $250 an hour, depending upon the difficulty level. |

CRIMINAL LAW-
CLASS "A" FELONIES- (Murder and kidnapping) $10,500
CLASS "B" THROUGH "E" FELONIES WHICH ARE NOT SEX CRIMES- Including fugitive felon defense, DWI, violent crimes, as well as property, juvenile and other criminal defense. The initial retainer is: between $4,000 and $10,500 depending upon the crime, for a first C,D, or E non sex crime felony, $4,000, Class B is $7,000, A is $10,500 for each additional felony which is not a sex crime, $1,000 on top of the prior fees.
SEX CRIMES- I defend sex crimes as a substantial part of my criminal practice. There is an inordinate amount of ongoing training , research, and staffing involved in these cases, thus, for a any sex abuse, rape, or child pornography crime there is a MINIMUM FEE of Felony sex crime $7,000, misdemeanor, $4,000
MISDEMEANORS THAT ARE NOT SEX CRIMES- $2,500 plus $500 for each additional misdemeanor |

CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT, DSS - non criminal-$3,500 |

MEDICAL MALPRACTICE and OTHER CIVIL INJURY SUITS- I have referral relationships with some of the best in the practice in New York, at no additional cost to you I will evaluate your case and send you to a very good lawyer who specializes in your area of need. (I will get a referral fee from that attorney, if they accept your case.) There is usually no up front fees for you at all if you have been injured.Defnse of a civil case, that is, you are being sued, between $2,000 and $15,000 on a sliding scale depending upon the amount of the suit. A civil suit in the amount of over $250,000 will be determined on a case by case basis. |
